Career
Steve Craig’s football career began at Raith Rovers as a youth player. After departing the club in 2000, he briefly played for junior club Broxburn Athletic. He then secured his first professional contract with Falkirk, a Scottish First Division club, initially on a three-month deal. Impressing with a goal on his debut, he was rewarded with a three-year contract.
In January 2003, Craig made a move to Motherwell, a Scottish Premier League club. He made his debut shortly after and scored his first goal for the club in February. He signed a new one-year contract with Motherwell in June 2003.
On May 12, 2004, Craig, along with his Motherwell teammate Derek Adams, signed a pre-contract with Aberdeen. He made his debut for Aberdeen in the opening match of the 2004-2005 season.
