Sauti Sol Biography

Sauti Sol is a Kenyan Afro-pop band formed in Nairobi in 2005. The group originally consisted of Bien-Aimé Baraza, Willis Chimano, Savara Mudigi, and Polycarp Otieno. They are known for blending Afro-pop with elements of soul, R&B, reggae, and traditional Kenyan sounds.

Sauti Sol gained wider recognition through songs such as Sura Yako, Nerea, Live and Die, and Suzanna. Their breakthrough album Sol Filosofia (2011) helped establish them as one of Kenya’s prominent contemporary music groups.
